From Idea to Investment: Backing Young Entrepreneurs in Tottenham

From Idea to Investment: Backing Young Entrepreneurs in Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, a room full of ambition, and a line-up of young entrepreneurs ready to pitch for their shot at funding. This was about turning raw ideas into opportunities that could change lives.

Why?
Starting a business when you have little or no experience can feel like climbing a mountain with no map. The mentoring programme exists to guide young entrepreneurs through the process, giving them the skills, confidence, and clarity to make their vision a reality.

How?
Dippo, Luke, and Martyn from The Spartan Project provided 1:1 mentoring sessions for participants, focusing on:

  • Refining business ideas so they are clear and compelling
  • Building the skills needed to present with confidence
  • Preparing pitches for a final funding panel

One of the standout successes was Alisa, a 19-year-old from Edmonton Green, who secured funding to grow her sustainable fashion brand. A label designed to be inclusive for women who wear a hijab.

What was the point?

By the numbers:

  • 4+ young entrepreneurs mentored
  • 1 entrepreneur received funding for her sustainable fashion brand
  • 100% of participants reported improved pitching confidence

By the moments:
“I am ecstatic. I cannot explain my emotions. I am so passionate about this and I wanted to present in a way that the judges would understand my battles and my brand. This has been a good opportunity and helping hand for people like me who do not have a business background.” — Alisa

Who was involved?
Respect to the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation for creating pathways for young people to take their ideas seriously, and for connecting them with mentors who understand the grind.

So, What’s Next?
We will continue to mentor more young entrepreneurs, helping them take the leap from idea to execution — and from execution to impact.
